The glutathione precursor, N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC), was found to reduce the oxidative stress that can trigger a miscarriage according to the medical journal Lancet. In one miscarriage study over 160 women who had had miscarriages were divided into two groups. Group A was given 600mg of NAC plus 500mg of folic acid per day. Group B was given only the folic acid. Women in Group A delivered significantly more babies than women who did not take NAC.
Glutathione is the bodies main antioxidant and is found in every cell. NAC is the limiting component in glutathione production. Dr. Robert Keller, a renowned medical consultant and researcher, studied glutathione for over ten years in an attempt to find something that would help his patients with difficult chronic illnesses. The results of his efforts is MaxGXL, a glutathione supplement that supports the bodies production of glutathione.
Further nutritional studies showed that women who took vitamin supplements produced healthier babies. Taking 40mb of vitamin B6 (folic acid) daily beginning on or before the fourth month of pregnancy proved to reduce nausea and vomiting in 67% of the the cases. In addition, 85% of women who took 1g of Ginger daily reported reduced nausea and vomiting.
If oxidative stress is a factor in miscarriages, could it also play a role in infertility?
